Dental Implant

Our goal is to provide each patient with a beautiful, healthy, and natural smile.  All of our dentists at Cabrillo Dental are highly skilled in every dental procedure required to meet this objective.
By far, the most exciting of these dental procedures is the dental implant.

Dental implants provide the foundation to fix almost any dental problem and transform every smile.

What Dental Problems Can Be Fixed with Dental Implants?

If you have any of the following dental problems, dental implants can fix them:

  • A single missing tooth anywhere in your mouth
  • One or more teeth that are badly decayed or broken
  • Multiple missing teeth in a row
  • A need or desire to have all of your teeth pulled and replaced with something permanent, beautiful, and natural-looking
  • Full dentures or partial plates that are loose or do not fit well
Advantages of Dental Implants
  • Implants are tooth-like. Dental implants are the closest you will get to real teeth. The implant is a root replacement. Rather than using neighboring teeth for support, we place dental implants directly into the jawbone. This new root supports new teeth in multiple ways.
  • Implants look natural. Because an implant is in the jawbone, the new tooth emerges from the gums just like a natural tooth. There is no need for teeth to be connected to each other, which usually produces an unnatural appearance.
  • Implants chew perfectly. Not only are implants the most visually-pleasing tooth replacement, they also function just like real teeth. The chewing ability of a dental implant is far superior to any other tooth replacement option.
  • Implants are versatile. Implants are not just to replace one missing tooth. The dentists at Cabrillo Dental have many years of experience using dental implants to restore every possible scenario of missing teeth.
  • Implants are long lasting. Dental implants are over 90% successful, lasting for 40+ years! Unlike other dental work, the success rate does not decrease over time.
  • Implants cannot get cavities. Have you struggled with cavities for much of your life? Dental implants are the best treatment option for anyone prone to cavities. You will never lose an implant to decay.
  • Implants are for everyone. Except for a few rare medical problems, dental implants typically work for everyone. If you think your smile is too damaged for dental implants, you are probably wrong. What Implant Options are Available at Cabrillo Dental?

Because of the versatility of implants, we are confident that almost any problem can solved with the use of an implant.  Our dental implant restorations are divided into four major categories:

Single tooth replacement

Whether you are already missing a tooth or need to have a tooth pulled, a dental implant can replace it.  Dental implants perfectly recreate the appearance and function of a natural tooth.

Full mouth permanent tooth replacement

This technique is often called “All on Four”.  In this innovative procedure, your doctor strategically places four dental implants into the jawbone to support all of the teeth in either the upper or the lower jaw.  The new teeth are then attached to the implant the same day as the surgery.  You never go a day without teeth!  Your dentist then permanently attaches the new teeth to the implants.  You never have to take them out!  Your dentist will remove them as needed for cleaning purposes, usually about once per year.

Multiple tooth replacement

If you are missing several teeth in a row, implants placed on each end support 3-4 teeth in a bridge.

Implant-supported removable teeth replacement

Are you already wearing a full or partial denture?  If you are comfortable with a removable appliance and would like a more secure fit, this is the implant option for you.  Dental implants use locator attachments onto which the denture or partial attaches.  This connection is extremely secure. Once the attachment locks onto an implant, the denture or partial remains secure, even while eating.
